Ranger Ally Profile: Kyouryuuger Yuko and Rika

Yuko Fukui (福井 優子 Fukui Yūko) Nobuharu's sister, possessing similar strength to her brother. A single mother to her daughter, Rika, she was widowed when her husband, Kenichi (賢一 Ken'ichi), died four years ago. Yuko believes the Kyouryuugers and the Deboss Army to be equally dangerous after a previous Deboss attack on the populace left Rika injured. Nobuharu is especially stung by Yuko's assertion, especially since he was at that event as Kyoryu Blue to protect his family. Though she warms up slightly to KyouryuuBlue after she discovers that he had helped to rescue her from the influence of the Debo Monster Debo Kokodoko, Yuko still thinks poorly of him. Yuko finally figures out that Nobuharu is KyouryuuBlue when she notices that KyouryuuBlue's mannerisms and motivation are the same as Nobuharu's during the fight against Debo Vacance. Yuko does not reveal to Nobuharu that she has figured out his heroic identity, but she has apparently accepted the fact. Ramirez later chooses her to be the new living KyouryuuCyan. When she is introduced to the Kyouryuugers for the first time, Nobuharu tries to explain things to her, but she reveals to him she has known the truth for some time, a fact that the other Kyouryuugers have known as well.

Rika Fukui (福井 理香 Fukui Rika) is Yuko's daughter and Nobuharu's niece. She affectionately calls Nobuharu "Uncle Nobu" (ノブおじちゃん Nobu-ojichan). She was injured during an attack by the Deboss Army, despite KyouryuuBlue's best efforts to protect her and her mother. Unlike Yuko, however, the headstrong Rika sees KyouryuuBlue as the mysterious hero who protected her from more serious harm that day. She later learns of her uncle's heroic identity and takes pride in being KyouryuuBlue's niece, though she keeps Nobuharu's identity as Kyoryu Blue a secret from her mother.

  1. Yuko's character was part of the reason I could not get into Kyoryuger. I mean, no offense to Ayumi Kinoshita, who is one of the hottest Sentai actresses of all time, and portrayed one of the most memorable female Yellows of all time, but I feel her character wasn't done well.
