Marvelous vs Basco

Here are images from the last two episodes of Gokaiger. UkiyaSeed, of Orends: Range, was nice enough to again make screenshots for episode 47.

These two episodes feature the long awaited confrontation of Captain Marvelous (GokaiRed) against Basco ta Jolokia. Don't scroll down if you don't want any spoilers.

After this - the final episodes of Gokaiger. Go-Busters is due to premiere on Februrary 26th. That leaves 3 weeks left for Gokaiger, which should have the series end with episode 51. Given that we haven't seen the Emperor do anything yet - I'm hoping for a really spectacular finale. (It's usually the villains who have sat around, doing nothing during the series, that you have to watch out for. It certainly was true of Damaras this season.)

Google Malware Warning Removed!

I've really never encountered hacking or cyber attacks, so when earlier this month I by chance found one of my blog entries slapped with a Google Malware Warning - I was worried. The analysis Google did didn't list my blog as suspicious - but rather a link I had on my Blog list. I believe they where the ones struck with malware, and my site ended up being an unfortunate intermediary.

Anyway, one post suddenly became several. Battle Fever J, Timeranger, and Geki Yellow being pages I found effected.

It took some doing, but I was finally able to figure out Google's Web Tools verification process. (On my older version of the Dashboard, I found my site already signed up and verified under "Webtools", located at the bottom of the Dashboard page. It wasn't exactly standing out.)

Anyway, with the egregious link expelled - a site review gave my blog a clean bill of health - with the Malware Warnings removed.

I suspect this was more troublesome for me than anyone else - but if you where affected by this, I apologize.

I have taken some steps to help prevent something like this happening again, or at least trying to reduce the chance malicious code could be put on my site through the comments section. I really don't like making a comment more cumbersome than it has to be - but I've activated the Comment Approval option. I'm not online all the time, or next to my email often, so if you leave a comment it might not be approved (and made visible) for a day or so.

Ahem... I guess that's all. I just wanted to keep people informed.

Gokaiger Zenkyokushu

I was just able to make a pre-order for the Gokaiger Zenkyokushu (Final CD Compilation) on Play-Asia.com. I absolutely LOVE the music of Super Sentai, and getting the final collected volume is always a trill for me. (Mostly because I try and wait until the final CD is released, to save on money.)

Anyway - I just wanted to point out that Play-Asia has it available for pre-order now: here.

CDJapan also has a pre-order page also: here.

For me, Play-Asia is usually my first choice of where to buy music CDs. I was able to pre-order the CD for a total of about $45, versus 4000 Yen, around $52 at CDJapan. (I don't think there is any fancy shipping with either of them unless you pay extra.) Play-Asia was late, though, with putting up the pre-order -- something that happened last year when the Goseiger Zenkyokushu CD was released. I emailed them and they where able to get the Gokaiger pre-order page up!

I also wanted to mention - I was a little nervous about the extra line they have listed on the item: "Kanzen Otakara Sound Box". I don't want to mistakenly buy a compilation of karaoke versions of all the songs. I asked about it, and it's apparently just another name. I just don't want to be making any mistakes about it ^_^. Sometimes the CDJapan page will feature audio samples (to avoid such a mistake). Maybe they'll have audio samples later.

Gokaiger Episode 46

Last episode Kakuranger ally NinjaMan visited the pirate crew; since that episode was actually a clipshow, this episode might be considered the official Kakuranger/Gokaiger episode. (Though I thought NinjaWhite was going to appear. I guess her appearance at the tail end of episode 45 was all there was.)

Just to make sure nobody missed anything, here are the Ranger Profiles and Image Galleries I've added recently. (Mainly the Go-Busters, the new right-hand man of Zangyack Emperor Akudosu Gil, and crossover guest of Gokaiger Space Sheriff Gaven.)

There is one other thing I wanted to mention. It took me a while - but I finally bought all 7 Super Sentai Music Soundtracks, available on iTunes. If you want to show you're support for Super Sentai and other Tokusatsu properties legally brought over to America, then maybe you can buy some of the songs too. Even though they only cost a $1 -- the 7 Volumes, with 10 songs each, adds up -- so I had to buy only a few volumes at a time. The earlier Super Sentai music is campy, but cool, ranging coming from the 70s and 80s -- but for modern tunes, volumes 5, 6 and 7 are you're best bet. Super Sentai regularly produces some of the best J-Pop.

Speaking of music, I also wanted to mention that the Zenkyokushu (Final CD Compilation) of Gokaiger Music is available for pre-order on CDJapan, Gokaiger Zenkyokushu Kanzen Otakara Sound Box.

It has the tag-line "Best Otakara Song Box" - which if anyone can tell me -- is this the CD that's going to have the regular versions of all the songs (with singing. Not just background music.) The work "Zenkyokushu" usually is an indication it's a collection of the singing songs. The Otakara Song Box usually means it's just background music. Does it contain both? (They sometimes include karaoke versions alongside the regular versions of the songs.) Is anyone able to clear this up for me?

Ranger Villain Profile: Gokaiger Dairandou

Dairandou (ダイランドー Dairandō) is a member of the Imperial Guards, accompanying Akudosu Gil to the Gigant Horse and becoming the invasion force's new second in command. A cocky and arrogant figure in personality, Dairandou loves to have fun and treats his fights like a game. He often spurts out English words in his dialogue and uses the catchphrase, "Choi!" (ちょい) in his sentences. Dairandou also carries a giant mallet that he enlarges to execute his Giant Hammer attack.

Ninjas and Pirates Cavorting Together Again

Since the message forum, that usually posts screenshots for Super Sentai episodes each week, took a week off -- I thought I would have to wait until I could make screenshots for episode 45. But UkiyaSeed, of Orends: Range blog, made some very good quality images instead. I'd like to thank him very much them - as even though episode 45 of Gokaiger was a clipshow, it seemed like an important clipshow, leading into a cross-over with "Ninja Sentai Kakuranger"!

NinjaMan, an ally from in Kakuranger, guest stars in this episode, with Tsuruhime (NinjaWhite) appearing at the end. I'm pretty happy to see the actress of Tsuruhime returning to represent the Kakurangers -- she's notable for being one of the more prominent female Sentai leaders. (It's not always the Red Ranger who's the leader - even though he's always at the lead of the group.) The only other female leader in Super Sentai that I can recall if GekiYellow, from Gekiranger. Shiba Kaoru springs to mind -- but she was short lived as leader in Shinkenger, and wasn't a permanent cast member.

Darn it... Mentioning GekiYellow, I was going to put a link of her here -- but I found that it's another post with a Suspected Malware warning. It's not my site that's the source (I removed the link where it might have originated from.) Does anyone know how to fix this? It says if you're the site owner you can use Google's Webtools to fix it, but that seems to require a verification that the site belongs to you. I don't own blogspot, and can't create verifying links like they are asking for. So does anyone know how to get my blog re-reviewed? Either that or I'm just going to have to wait 90 days and hope the warnings goes away....

The strongest warrior on the team. His legs can move at an unbelievable speed, making him look as if he is teleporting. His partner Buddyroid is Nick Chida.

Nick Chida (チダ・ニック Chida Nikku)

A humanoid cheetah-type android and Red Buster's partner, acting like an older brother figure to Hiromu, who is a positive thinker. Although he is a robot who can transform into a motorcycle for Red Buster to ride, Chida ironically has no sense of direction.

Ranger Profile: Go-Busters Blue Buster

Ryuji Iwasaki (岩崎リュウジ Iwasaki Ryūji)/Blue Buster (ブルーバスター Burū Basutā)

A warrior with superstrength and excellent fighting technique as well as the oldest of the team. His partner Buddyroid is Banana Gorisaki.

Banana Gorisaki (ゴリサキ・バナナ Gorisaki Banana)

A humanoid gorilla-type android and Blue Buster's partner, typically faint hearted and worrying about Ryuji's well-being. He acts as a mechanic in the team base.

A cheerful and energetic young woman, who gains incredible kicking and jumping power from the accident. Her partner Buddyroid is Retasu Usada.

Retasu Usada (ウサダ・レタス Usada Retasu)

A rabbit-type mecha and Yellow Buster's partner who is unyielding and selfish and is usually fighting with Yoko. She works on data management in the control room.

Ranger Ally Profile: Gokaiger Space Sheriff Gavan

Space Sheriff Gavan (Uchū Keiji Gyaban 宇宙刑事ギャバン)/Retsu Ichijouji (Ichijōji Retsu/ 一条寺烈) He is the son of Tamiko Ichijouji (Ichijōji Tamiko) and Voicer. His mission is to protect the Earth against the invading Makuu Empire. When needed, he is teleported via a silver chrome combat suit using the Jouchaku process which consists of fusing Granium particles to Gavan's body. He is an accomplished athlete and has various weapons at his disposal. On Earth, he uses the name Retsu Ichijōji. In the Space Sheriff Crossover, Gavan announces to Sharivan and Shaider that he has proposed to Mimi.

Years later The legendary Space Sheriff Gavan, hired by Zangyack, comes to Earth to capture the Gokaigers. However, a strong enemy known as Gavan Bootleg (ギャバンブートレグ Gyaban Būtoregu) appears and takes Gavan to the worst prison in the universe. The Gokaigers decide to help free Gavan and fight alongside to fight the new enemy threat

Go-Buster, Gokaiger, and Other Images

Here are some images of the soon to be debuting Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters! This looks like it's going to be an interesting show -- with the characters utilizing robotic partners of some sort, who will grow large and form the giant robot of the series. The theme seems to be Specialized Missions, though I'm not positive about that. (I think people where originally jokingly assuming it was going to deal with Ghosts, because the title sounds similar to "Ghost Busters".)

It's also interesting to note a reference from our original American Power Rangers. Taking a cue from "It's Morphing Time", when they transform the characters will be saying "Let's Morphin" (レッツモーフィン Rettsu Mōfin).

With Gokaiger coming to a close soon enough - it will probably be good to get back to a single-series focus. While I've absolutely loved the trek through Super Sentai's 35 year history - it has seemed like something they couldn't keep up forever. Though I don't think they are planning to back down quite yet when making the movies - as the upcoming Sentai Versus Crossover movie is ambitiously aiming to featuring the Gokaiger alongside the Kamen Rider History themed "Kamen Rider Decade", with the Go-Busters also appearing.

I have some Gokaiger images further down below, and some Battle Fever J images at the bottom.

I do wish to point out/address a problem I discovered -- that my page for Battle Fever J Group Images has inexplicably been labeled as being suspected of Malware. Looking into it, the google diagnostic page says that my blog is NOT currently listed as suspiciously. I don't know wether this happened to other posts; but it looks like my site was just unwittingly used as an intermediary. I believe a blog I had on my Blog List, "Living Between Wednesdays", was the source. I've since removed that link. I think the google-warning will eventually go away; but until then I'd just advise staying away from Battle Fever J Group Images, or any other post that prompts that message.

I think this was all the result of malicious "comment" postings, possibly on the other blog. I want to check wether it's from my blog, but don't want to risk looking at it! I like having an easy to access Comments section, without having to use a sign-in function or "Post Will Appear after Administrator Approval" thing -- but I'll change that if needed, to keep the site and people visiting it safe.

I'm very sorry for this problem. Otherwise, I hope you'll enjoy the images.

Red and Green Pirate Christmas!

It looks like they went all out for the Gokaiger Christmas Special. Besides having a spot-light on GokaiYellow (they did a whole line-up of Yellow Legendary Powers) - but GokaiSilver used his power of imagination to merge GokaiRed and GokaiGreen's powers into a single Red and Green outfit! Add onto that the appearance of Battle Kenya, from Battle Fever J, and this seemed like quite the jam-packed episode.

BTW, Ohba Kenji 大葉健二, who played Denzi Blue, returns to reprise his original role as Battle Kenya. I never knew he played both roles - so that's quite cool for him to appear in the episode, even it only for the reveal at the end of him dressed up as Santa.

GokaiGreen Spotlight

The past two episodes of Gokaiger spotlight Don Dogoier, aka "Doc" (ハカセ Hakase) - and GokaiGreen. I don't know exactly what they reveal - but it seems like Don's past has been a blank slate, even to himself -- and it's discovered that the fearful and bumbling Don was once a legendary warrior.

Here are screenshots for this week's episode. I was also able to add a profile for Emperor Akudosu Gil. I have to wonder, though, who's going to end up being the Gokaiger's finale enemy - the Emperor himself, or the ever more dangerous Basco ta Jolokia?

Ranger Villain Profile: Gokaiger Emperor Akudosu Gil

Emperor Akudosu Gil (皇帝アクドス・ギル Kōtei Akudosu Giru) is the leader of the Zangyack Empire and the father of Waruzu Gil, sending him to lead the second invasion force when the first was destroyed by the Super Sentai teams. However, though the Super Sentai teams were no longer a threat by then, Akudosu sent Damarasu to oversee his son's actions out of a lack of confidence in his son's abilities. Eventually, Akudosu sends two of his Dogormin to deliver the Great Waruzu for the Gigant Horse crew to use so that the invasion gets back on track. However, when news of Waruzu's death reaches him, Akudosu arrives to the Gigant Horse with his Imperial fleet to assume full command of the invasion while making examples out of both the Gokaigers for their crime and Damarasu for his failure to protect Waruzu.

Super Sentai 199 Part 3

Ranger Ally Profile: Dekaranger K-9 Murphy

K-9 Murphy (マーフィー, Māfī K9): Mechanical dog used to track criminals and objects using his enhanced sense of smell. The "latest model Ultra-Performance with A.I. and talented Robot police dog" is what it is also known as. Can move extremely fast, and is loyal to his friends (especially Umeko), often detecting when they're in danger from great distances and running to assist. When given the Key Bone, Murphy transforms into the D-Bazooka, a powerful weapon which can be used by the DekaRangers. Has a tendency to try and show dominance over Doggy Kruger by raising his leg and releasing coolant fluid on Kruger's feet. Prior to Magiranger vs. Dekaranger, Murphy was transferred to FireSquad and modified to transform into a suit of armor for DekaRed in Battlizer Mode.

Hades Wise God Dagon (冥賢神ダゴン, Meifukenshin Dagon) (35-49): Dagon was the seemingly-invincible leader of the Hades Gods and the most powerful (although he is only in the middle class Wisdom God tier, in which he is the only male member) who uses a trident called Samukama as a weapon. His head looks like an actual fish. Dagon trusts no one except for himself and N Ma, caring only about serving N Ma, and furthering his master's goals, and nothing else, not even the well-being of his fellow Hades Gods. He was the one who killed Ifrit for continuing to fight the Magirangers after the flame he lit was spent in Stage 36. Dagon also faced Wolzard's spirit in Stage 40, when Wolzard confronted him at a lake in his own Marudeyouna World. In Stage 42, he sent Sleipnir to draw out Wolzard and had Vancuria plant one of his fish scales on Wolzard during the battle to track him. In Stage 43, after Nai & Mea successfully located where Wolzard was hiding, he, along with Wyvern and Titan, went to ambush Wolzard. He was angered by the fact that N Ma's soul was contained in Wolzard's body and took personal pleasure in extracting N Ma's soul from him, as well as seemingly killing Blagel, when he created a crack in the Earth below him, which caused him to plummet to the fiery depths below. He also gave another of his scales to communicate with Vancuria, so that he had information on the situation with Wyvern and Titan, as well as giving Vancuria orders to make sure "that fool won't screw it up" despite praising Wyvern's talents. He ambushed and killed Titan so that N Ma could be reborn in Titan's body. With Sleipnir's help, Dagon slew Sphinx when she abandoned her Divine Punishment. Dagon was confronted by MagiMother in the finale while Sleipnir faced the other Rangers, and fought her until the Rangers intervened. He attempted to blast Urara with an energy ball, but Smoky intervened and took the hit for Urara, killing him. He then teleported himself and MagiMother to the Infershia lair, where he would enlighten Miyuki of despair. Dagon was surprised as well as infuriated when Sphinx arrived, alive and well. Dagon was also angered by the fact that Vancuria defied him by resurrecting Sphinx and siding with her. Even though Sphinx offered him a chance to change his ways, Dagon refused and tried to strike her down again, as Dagon only desired the power of darkness and the perfect nightmare, but Sphinx shot and killed Dagon with her bazooka. As he died, he was left wondering whether or not the power of darkness was truly absolute as he originally thought.

Ranger Villain Profile: Goranger Black Cross Army

The Black Cross Army/Black Crusaders (黒十字軍, Kuro Jūjigun)

The Black Cross Army are the primary villains of the series. An international terrorist society led by the supernatural entity known as the Black Cross Führer, their goals are the total eradication of the human race and the absolute domination of the world. They utilized advanced technology and cybernetics to create an army of superhuman operatives to attack EAGLE and Goranger. The also used "supernatural magic" on occasion to empower its agents. Most of the Black Cross operatives are "remodeled" humans who have been enhanced through surgery. They had various secret bases across the globe, the main headquarters being the flying Black Cross Castle which orbited high above the Earth.

Black Cross Führer/Generalissimo (黒十字総統, Kuro Jūjigun Sōtō): Black Cross' supreme leader, he was often referred to as the "Machine Monster" for his seeming invincible nature. He could not be easily killed by any conventional weapon. He had numerous supernatural powers and was incredibly intelligent. He kept his identity a secret even among his generals but revealed his true form later on. In reality he was not even humanoid but rather a sentient alien machine construct who was part of the Black Cross Castle. He could also disguise himself as human (both male and female). He was finally defeated when the Goranger team combined their powers and launched their "Cassiopeia" Five Star attack.

Sun Mask (日輪仮面, Nichirin Kamen) (15-20): The so-called "Star/Sun of Africa". A ruthless tyrant who was renowned for his successive victories in Africa. He was called to Japan by Kuro Jujigun Soutou to help battle Goranger. He often used whatever means necessary to win. Often let his cowardly nature get in the way of his operations. He frequently battled one-on-one with Aka Ranger. Defeated in his last duel with Aka Ranger through the Spear Whip and destroyed by the Goranger Storm. He could manipulate and generate intense fire at will (often focused through his staff)

Iron Man Mask General Temujin (鉄人仮面テムジン将軍, Tetsujin Kamen Temujin Shōgun) (21-42): The so-called "Mongol Demon", he was recruited from Kuro Jujigun's Gobi Desert operations. A cold and sadistic operative, he was a brilliant tactician and also formed his own army called the "Steel Brigade" (Tetsu Gundan). Vain and prideful, he often let his ego get in the way of his operations. He was virtually indestructible thanks to his steel armor, but ultimately, he was killed when Aoranger controlled the Variblune remotely and the Goranger Storm balls that Temujin placed on his shoulders exploded in the Variblune cockpit, taking both Temujin and the Variblune with them. He carried a battle staff which ended in a sickle-like blade.

Fire Mountain Mask General Magman (火の山仮面マグマン将軍, Hi no Yama Kamen Maguman Shōgun) (42-54): He was recruited from the volcanic Eldgja region in Iceland. He is the leader of the ruthless "Funkan Gundan" (Eruption Battalion). A cruel and calculating despot, he commanded his own mobile battle fortress dubbed "Navarone" (named after the Nazi Cannons off the Greek Aegean Islands in WWII). He had the ability to fire napalm missiles from the top of his "volcano" Mask. He was impervious to Gorangers' weapons and was a master combatant. He died when the Goranger Machines were made to crash inside Navarone, which exploded from within. His main attack was his "Volcano Mask Rage Eruption" (Hi No Yama Kamen Ikkari No Dai Funkan).

Commander-in-Chief Golden Mask (ゴールデン仮面大将軍, Gōruden Kamen Daishōgun) (54-84): Kuro Jujigun's top general. A supernatural entity that was mystically awoken through Black Magic and Kuro Jujigun Soutou's powers. Took command of Kuro Jujigun's elite African/Egyptian Troopers. He is versed in sorcery and keenly interested in astrology. He could repel most of Gorangers' attacks and was near invincible. He was so fiercely loyal to Kuro Jujigun Soutou that he sacrificed his own life to reveal the location of Goranger headquarters, turning himself into a rainbow of gold dust.

Steel Sword Dragon (鋼鉄剣竜, Kōtetsu Kenryū) (Movie): Renegade Kuro Juujigun operative who was imprisoned by Kuro Juujigun Soutou for his recklessness and rebelliousness. He was later freed by Kuro Juujigun Soutou in exchange for his help in destroying Goranger. He was an incredibly strong fighter and was impervious to harm. He could easily repel the "Goranger Hurricane" attack, but the Gorangers managed to kill him with the "Goranger Bomb Hurricane". Wielded the mighty "Sen Ryuu Tou" (Imperial Dragon Sword) which could cut and destroy almost any object.

Super Sentai 199 Part 1

Here's part 1 of a collection of screenshots I made myself from the Gokaiger vs Goseiger Super Sentai 199 movie. You can also find images from the ending credits of the film here.

I have to say how very impressed I was with the film. Although skewing younger with a more simple plot, mostly to facilitate the appearance of many, many nods to Super Sentai from the past 34 years, it still felt the movie kept it's center by not simply making it a grab-bag appearance of Super Sentai characters. Rather it seemed like a celebration of the franchise, mixed in with the Goseiger going up against the Gokaiger, attempting to take their lost powers back.

I don't exactly know how this movie was received in Japan - but the ending, especially, seemed quite poignant- with the public cheering for their heroes. It felt somewhat cathartic, celebrating a nationally iconic franchise - especially in comparison to what Japan was suffering through when this movie released last summer. (I could be wrong, though; It's just how I saw it.)

Although I was disappointed to see that some of the returning actors, reprising their roles from years or even decades ago, did not all appear as prominently as I thought they would - their appearances, though short, where nonetheless appreciated. What I was impressed with was the finale - the appearance of all the robots over Super Sentai's vast history. While computer graphics where definitely used to accomplish this - including some grainy cut-outs of footage - it still worked for me!

Timeranger - Back to 2010!

During the Shinkenger vs Goseiger movie - fans got a sneak peak of the new Super Sentai Team: Gokaiger! It was a short, off to the side appearance in the middle of the film - which has been done before (Goseiger doing the very same in the Go-Onger vs Shinkenger movie), but this time their appearance is made more continuity-based.

Domon, aka TimeYellow, travels from the far distant future to tell the Gokaiger that they need to go back in time, to the events of Shinkenger vs Goseiger. So their appearance, which use to a continuity-free preview, is now weaved into the official cannon. If you've ever seen certain Kamen Rider movies - you'd know that continuity is not always guaranteed in Super Hero Tokusatsu films. (Or, in a more egregious example, for the Kamen Rider Kiva movie, continuity was completely tossed out.) They have gotten much better in recent years, though.

The episode, of course, goes further than that. I believe the events of the Shinkenger vs Goseiger took place during the Yuumajuu phase of the series. The Goseiger hadn't yet encountered the robotic Matrintis Empire. So the appearance of Metal Alice with the Matrintis' first monster robot, to fight the Gokaiger, lined up with the timeline continuity as well.

Pirates Back to School

Denji Sentai Megaranger is revisited this week in Gokaiger, as the pirate crew members go to highschool, where former MegaRed is now a teacher.

Megaranger is interesting, as it was dubbed "Power Rangers in Space" - the adaptation of was fundamentally different, as it was mistakenly assumed (because of the space-shuttle type giant robot), that Megaranger was about Space. It wasn't; it was in fact catching onto the popularity of the internet and technology, like cell phones, and used virtual reality as a theme. It also used a highschool setting for the characters, as five teenager are caught up in defending Earth from an invasion from another dimension.

The Japanese message board I usually find screenshots at cut off half way, only making screenshots for the first half and tail end of the episode. Orends: Range was nice enough to contribute some his screen shots to this site - which I'd like to thank him for. My previous post, found here, has the images I originally was able to collect.

Culmination

There seem to be a culmination of several big events in this week's 40th Gokaiger Episode, no doubt with changes coming that will set the ground-work leading to the series finale.

The least of these culminating events is the introduction of Kanzen Gokai-Ou, the newest and possible ultimate form for the giant robots to take. The on-going conflict between Barizorg and Joe is also dealt with. This series has provided fans some stellar moments, like guest appearances we previously could have only dreamed of, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the series draws to a close.

The Dogoumin Bodyguards (親衛隊ドゴーミン Shin'eitai Dogōmin) are the emperor's two red-armored bodyguards who are stronger than the Sugoumin and are armed with spears. Sent to deliver Great Warzu to the Gigant Horse crew, the two Dogoumin briefly battle the Gokaigers.

Gokaiger, Changes Coming...

I've been expecting this for a long while now. There's often sometimes a half-way point in Super Sentai shows - usually defined by the good guys getting the ultimate form for their robots, or the bad guys having a new addition or change in ranks. I think both are happening soon -- Go-on Gokaiou is due to appear next episode -- and ever since knowing that Oiles Gil was the emperor's son - it stood to reason that eventually the actual Emperor would come to take over (especially since his son is such a screwup ^_^) We see some indications of this in this episode, in addition to the appearance of Red-colored minions, I think called Dogoumin, who are body guards for the emperor. (I'll come back and put up a profile for them later.) Also, Oiles Gil is getting his own giant robot - which just screams "final last stand" to me.

Here are some images I made myself from the Abaranger-themed episode from Gokaiger. Poor Ahim, being given a Ranger Key based after Emiri's made up "AbarePink" costume. Even the Key had felt covering.

BTW, I've only seen a little of Abaranger myself -- does it make sense, Emiri and AbareBlue being married now? There was supposedly a reference about them being together at the end of Dekaranger vs Abaranger, so I guess they are just continuing that here. Also - what was the logic in that cure for the common cold? That seemed just seemed bizarre. Was it based on a cultural reference, or something? Or was it just weirdness for the sake of weirdness? Still, it was a cute fun episode.

Gokaiger Go-On!

Engine Sentai Go-Onger was a fun show. It was very much one of the more child-friendly of the Sentai series -- but it proved to be very entertaining and funny, despite it's hotwheels meets pixar theme.

Now recently in Gokaiger, Go-Onger is honored with a two-part episode, with the original actor coming back to portray Go-On Red, and the introduction of the Gokaiger's new Legendary Armament. Extending the story of Go-Onger just a little bit, it seems this new robot is the off-spring of Speedor and Bearrv. That seems like a nice, if a little strange, touch to the whole affair.

I made up profiles for the two villains who appear in each episode.

Ranger Villain Profile: Gokaiger Disruption Officer Chirakashizky

Disruption Officer Chirakashizky (保蛮官チラカシズキー Hobankan Chirakashizukī): Babatcheed's right hand man who joined the Gaiark as a non-Machine World member. Reflecting Gunman World in his design, Chirakashizky is armed with various firearms and built in missile launchers. Overseeing the conquest of Gunman World, Chirakashizky easily defeats the Engines before the Gokaigers arrive. After an attempt to kill off Captain Marvelous in a showdown goes awry, Chirakashizky is defeated by a Gokai Legendream/Rising Strike combo and then destroyed by Hurricane Gokaioh.

Ranger Villain Profile: Gokaiger Pollution President Babatcheed

Pollution President Babatcheed (害統領ババッチード Gaitōryō Babatchīdo): The new leader of the Gaiark which battled the Go-ongers before setting up their new base of operations in Gunman World. He is the successor of the first Pollution President Batcheed after his death at the hands of the Shinkengers and the Go-ongers, resembling his predecessor in form and use of "de aru" in finishing his sentences. Using Chirakashizky to lure the Gokaigers into Gunman World, Babatcheed seals the World Wall to trap the pirates there so he can conquer the Human World.
